All-New Square Foot Gardening

This best selling garden book has helped me have the best garden ever without all the work including weeding and preparation. I would recommend it to anyone whether or not they enjoy gardening. This is an update of the formula that he developed over 25 years ago, plus it includes charts for when to start seeds indoors and when to plant outside. Even if you live in an apartment or have a yard with terrible soil this book will help you grow something edible and/or beautiful with less effort.

Landmark series published by Random House

The original Landmark series books are non fiction, hardcover books written for children. They are out of print but can sometimes be found through used book stores and auction sites. A few books in the series have been reprinted in softcover editions. The World series covers many events and people in world history. There is another set that covers people and events in American history. The series was first printed in the late 1950's so although some information and attitudes are dated they are well written and provide an enjoyable read. The books were written by a variety of authors - many of them well known for other works.
